Avonmouth took the Gloucester Premier league title on Saturday with a 35-14 points victory against Old Richians.

On a blistering hot day, and with the ground like concrete, Avonmouth took control with an impressive display from the whole team. Grant Britton stood out as the man of the match playing the best part of the encounter with a broken thumb. The young prop also scored a try and put in some outstanding runs demolishing the Old Richians defence in the process.

Avonmouth are now on their way to a possible league and cup double with a visit to the Memorial Stadium on Thursday for the Combination Cup final against St Marys Old Boys.
