Last Time Around ...

When the two teams last met in September 2006, Bristol went top of the Premiership after a 4 try win over Wasps . Seen here with the ball, Josh Taumalolo was amongst the pointscorers on that day.

Beware the wounded animal the saying goes.

However, in this case, it was more a case of beware the wounded insect.

Wasps, on the back foot after a humiliating defeat at Newcastle last weekend, came out fighting at Adams Park and Bristol were unfortunately on the receiving end.

Even Lawrence Dallaglio issued a public apology to the supporters. A masterful PR stroke? Probably. It certainly seemed to fire the home side up even though Dallaglio was forced to kick his heels on the bench until midway through the second half.

A day to forget

Wasps dominated from start to finish and Bristol just couldn't get a foothold in the game in what proved to be a day to forget.

There was effort a plenty but sadly the most fight was delivered in an off the ball incident which left Phil Vickery wondering what day of the week it was and Brian Ashton wondering if he'd lost his skipper for England's game against France next weekend!

Happy days ... Perry and Regan celebrate victory back in SEP06
