Saracens 21 - Gloucester 25

Anthony Allen, Olly Morgan and Lesley Vainikolo all scored for Gloucester in a hard fought game that saw Saracens lose their winning ways at Vicarage Road for the first time this term.

8-13 down at half time the home side piled on the pressure but were unable to get the better of Dean Ryan's squad. Delighted with his team's performance coach Ryan told reporters "We've played very well today and I felt like we were back to the Gloucester of old ... so I'm very happy to be back to that."

With Bath still at the top, and Bristol seemingly glued to the bottom, the win moves Gloucester up the Guinness Premiership table from 7th to 5th position.

MOON TO LEAVE BRISTOL RUGBY

Bristol Rugby have announced that, after two seasons in the job, the Club's Academy Manager Geoff Moon [below] is heading home to New Zealand.

Widely credited with seeing players like Attwood, Brown, Eves, Grieve, Pennycook, Phillips and Prosser graduate to the first team squad, the former England U21 Asst. Coach is leaving for 'family reasons'.

As Bristol languish at the bottom of the Guinness Premiership, 17 points adrift of local rivals Bath, the Club have lost C.E.O David White, Forwards Coach Martin Haag and now Geoff Moon all within the past 18 months.

C.E.O. David White [above] left his role at Bristol Rugby in July 2008 ... also for his native homeland New Zealand.

ROVERS 1 - SCUNTHORPE 2

Scunthorpe captain Izzy Iriekpen ruined the Gasheads night at the Memorial Stadium Friday evening with a winning goal just minutes after Rikki Lambert had levelled the score at 1-1.

First to find the net was Grant McCann with a deflected free kick just before half-time. During the match both sides hit the woodwork but it was Rover's lack of concentration after Lambert's equalizer that cost them the game. The win moves Scunthorpe to the top of Division One.
