Bristol's The National Smelting Co & Empire Amateur Boxing Clubs hosted their last joint show of the season tilted 'A Fistful Of Boxer$' at The BAWA club in Filton on Saturday the 30th of June.

It proved to be a real knockout evening with a capacity crowd with many unable to secure tickets due to the popular demand.

There where plenty of Bristol boxers on show in this action packed bill with six from the Avonmouth based Smelters plus four from Downend and two from the Empire club on this 13 bout bill. Smelters won three from six with pts wins from 13-year-old Tyler Davis and senior welterweight Jimmy Connors. NSC's15-year-old Nathan Snows first round stoppage of Kingstanton & Newton Abbot ABC rival Joe Clark got the crowd talking, with Joe going to the canvas twice before the bout was called to a halt.

Also featured was a female senior bout between two of the top girls in the country with ABA Middleweight champion Janie Brashill of Brighton versus Light Heavy champ Sarah Alderman of the London's Rosehill club.

Said NSC head coach Garry Cave "It's the first time we've had a female bout on one of our shows and what a cracker it was, with both girls going all out in 3 rounds of toe to toe action. With Sarah Alderman winning this hard fought bout by pts. Bout of the night went to NSC's Reece Godfrey and Sturminster's Claude Delange, Delange winning on points. This was a real contest of skill with both lads showing great defence and counterpunching, a cracking bout between two young prospects. I must thank all the clubs and officials that made this show possible it was a real pleasure".

The Smelters plan to host another show next season at the BAWA on Thursday the 28th of Oct
